The Japan HSP visa requires 70 points or more. With 80 points you can apply for permanent residence after living in Japan for one year; with 70 points, after three years. How are points calculated?
Mainly on education, work experience, annual income and age, with bonus points for things such as Japanese ability and graduating from certain universities.
Do I need to speak Japanese?
Japanese is not required, but Japanese ability earns bonus points.
Can my family come with me?
Yes. Your spouse and children can come with you, and you may bring parents or domestic staff if conditions are met.
