Main operating requirements
- Invest NT$6 million to set up a Taiwan company
- Operate for at least three years
- Employ at least two full-time Taiwanese staff each year
What the authorities review
The company must genuinely operate rather than be a shell. Revenue, hiring and tax records are generally reviewed.
Can the investment be recovered?
The investment funds the company’s operations. Once you have a Taiwan ID and meet conditions such as three years of operation, it can be recovered through a capital reduction or by closing the company, as the rules allow.
