Japan HSP application process and timing
- Points assessment (1 week): We calculate your points and confirm your category.
- Certificate of Eligibility (1–3 months): Apply for a Certificate of Eligibility for the status of residence.
- Visa and entry (A few weeks): Receive your visa and enter Japan.
- Permanent residence (After one or three years): Apply for permanent residence once you meet the points and residence requirements.

- Usually a job with a Japanese organisation, or running a business in Japan
- Annual income meeting the minimum for your category
- No adverse immigration or criminal record
