IRCC contacts applicants through their online account and email. Update any change of email, phone number or address immediately.
2. Watch your work permit expiry date
If you hold an SUV work permit, apply to extend it before it expires, if eligible, to avoid a gap in status.
3. Keep the business running
The SUV requires applicants to be actively involved in managing the business. Keep developing it while you wait, and stay in touch with your designated organisation.
4. Keep operating records
Keep meeting notes, financial statements, contracts, product progress and staff records, ready for any IRCC enquiry.
5. Be ready for requests
IRCC may ask for new medicals, police certificates or updated documents. Preparing in advance shortens your reply time.

SUV application process and timing
