Current authorisation
The regional centre programme is currently authorised until 30 September 2027. After that, Congress must pass legislation to extend it.
The track record
The programme has been extended many times before, but the timing and terms of any extension are not guaranteed.
What it means for investors
- Grandfathered petitions (filed on or before 30 September 2026): USCIS must keep processing them even if the programme lapses.
- Petitions filed later: watch the progress of reauthorisation.
Another key date
Investment thresholds will be adjusted for inflation from 1 January 2027, and every five years after that. Petitions filed before then use the current amounts.
