What is an RFE?
If USCIS needs more information while reviewing an I-526E, it issues a request for evidence (RFE). This does not mean the petition has failed.
Common reasons
- Insufficient source-of-funds evidence: it isn’t clear how the money was obtained.
- A broken transfer path: a transfer is missing records.
- Incomplete gift or loan documents: no evidence of the donor’s funds or the secured asset’s source.
- Project document issues: parts the project must answer.
How to respond
- Note the deadline and reply in time.
- Address each point in turn, with new supporting evidence.
- Coordinate project-related answers with the regional centre.
