The New Zealand education scene

What can you study in New Zealand? Almost anything! We have a large number of institutions and they offer a wide range of courses and qualifications.

You can study English in a language school. Or you can enrol in post-graduate study in one of our universities. You can take courses in a polytechnic, an institute of technology, or a college of education.

We welcome international students who choose New Zealand for study. You bring different perspectives, fresh ideas, and a multi-cultural flavour to our cities and educational institutions. Everyone can learn from each other.  And develop skills to help succeed in cross-cultural situations. We can offer you:

  • a wonderful natural environment for study and relaxation
  • a safe learning environment
  • excellent educational programmes
  • support services for international students
  • high quality qualifications.

You can study in any part of New Zealand because the education system is the same everywhere. And if you gain a qualification from a New Zealand university or polytechnic you’ll have a higher chance of getting work here. That means it’ll be easier to stay here if you want to make New Zealand your home. Many New Zealand qualifications are internationally recognised, so you'll have opportunities for excellent jobs worldwide.
