Australia Immigration - Student Visa


Australian Education International (AEI) operates a network of Australian Education Centres (AECs) in the Asia Pacific regions. These centres provide information and advice on education options available in Australia and also assist in visa processing.

A. Overseas students
B. Visitor visa or temporary visa applying onshore student visa

The applicant must be confirmed as enrolled in a full-time course that is a registered course or be enrolled in full-time study as an exchange student or assisted student. Enrolment must be evidenced by confirmation of enrolment certificate (CoE);

  • must have an acceptable health insurance;
  • be a genuine student and have adequate finances;
  • meet settlement criteria if intending to study in Australia for 12months or more;
  • make adequate arrangements for the education of school aged dependants;
  • meet health, character, public interest and special return requirements.

Visa Conditions

These are that the visa holder must:

  • satisfy enrolment and course requirements;
  • maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance;
  • notify the education provider of the residential address in Australia within seven days after arriving in Australia and notifying them of any change in the address with seven days of having changed the address;
  • if they have not turned 18 and are living with their parent/guardian/an adult nominated by their parent or guardian, must maintain arrangements approved by the education provider for the visa holders' accommodation, support and general welfare;
  • no work in Australia/ but on application this condition can be replaced with a condition permitting the student to work up to 20 hours per week during non-semester period; and
  • not change to a course offered by different education provider within a specified time, this condition may removed on an application
