Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) (Medical Practitioner):
Due to a shortage of doctors in rural areas, certain State Governments have concluded an agreement with the Department of Immigration whereby country hospitals may nominate suitably qualified medical practitioners (who are otherwise unable to apply under their own skills/qualifications). These appointments are usually with a condition that the migrating applicant remains with the rural hospital for a minimum of three years.
One such example is the Victorian Government - all rural hospitals in Victoria can nominate.
Other conditions as applicable to "Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)" as mentioned above also apply.
